STATE OF LOUISIANA
COURT OF APPEAL, FIRST CIRCUIT

JAMES CHRISTOPHER BAYARD NO. 2026 CW 0709
VERSUS

ALLISON JOHNSON BAYARD,
GLENN JOHNSON, WARREN TRASK,
JR., EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH
CORONER'S OFFICE, WILLIAM

"BEAU" CLARK, AND KELLY BOAL SEPTEMBER 14, 2026

In Re: James Christopher Bayard, applying for supervisory
writs, 19t® Judicial District Court, Parish of East Baton
Rouge, No. 758212.

BEFORE : THERIOT, GREENE, AND EDWARDS, JJ.

WRIT GRANTED WITH ORDER. When a judgment dismisses all claims
against a party, it is a final judgment that is immediately
appealable under La. Code Civ. P. art. 1915(A) (1). Shields v.
Alvin R. Savoie & Assocs., Inc., 2016-0825 (La. App. 15* Cir.
2/17/17), 214 So.3d 27, n.4, writ denied, 2017-0506 (La. 5/19/17),
220 So.3d 750. The district court’s April 1, 2026 judgment at
issue herein dismissed all of plaintiff’s claims against
defendant, the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office, and therefore,
constitutes a final, appealable judgment. Thus, the writ
application is granted for the limited purpose of remanding this
matter to the district court with instructions to grant an appeal
to relator pursuant to his notice of intent to seek supervisory
writs. See In Re Howard, 541 So.2d 195 (La. 1989) (per curiam).
Additionally, a copy of this court’s order is to be included in
the appellate record.
