State v. Webster
427 So. 2d 1324
La. Ct. App. 2d Cir. 1983
While the Supreme Court has recognized that concurrent rather than consecutive sentences are the general rule for convictions arising out of a single course of criminal conduct and in the absence of a showing that the public safety requires a longer sentence [ State v. Cox, supra.], it has never been held that if convictions arise out of a single course of conduct that consecutive sentences will necessarily be found to be excessive.
